Dear friends and family,

Most of you are aware of my long relationship with endPoverty.org. Betsy and I have been endPoverty donors since 1989 and I currently serve as board chairman and interim president. From Sunday, January 28th through February 6th, I will visit endPoverty’s three microloan partners in Sub-Saharan Africa, in Uganda, South Africa and Cameroon. I will be travelling with Evans Maphenduka, our Africa Coordinator.

In 2012, these three partners committed to a rigorous and challenging strategic plan to attain operational self-sustainability by the end of 2015. They are working to grow and strengthen their microloan programs to where interest revenues generated by their loans fully support the operating costs of their loan program. This is a major milestone in the development of a microloan program.

Evans and I are making this January/February visit to deliver endPoverty’s early and continuing support of our partners' efforts. We will be working with their leadership and providing staff training.

We would like to deliver a third and very important support resource.

To attain operational sustainability, our partners need to significantly expand their loan portfolios. Over the next three years endPoverty will be sending funds to support this expansion. We would like to start this growth early in 2013, with funding following closely on the heels of our visit.

Would you contribute to this early 2013 funding?

- Would you “sponsor” 100 miles of my 18,590 mile journey with a contribution of $25, or 500 miles with a gift of $100.

- Evans and I have a total of twelve hours riding in a Jeep on dirt roads to get to and from our partner WINHEEDCAM’s headquarters in Bamenda, Cameroon. Would you “sponsor” an hour of that trip for $50, or a whole six hour one way trip for $250.

- I’ll be taking maple syrup to each partner, for a maple syrup and ice cream staff party that has become a tradition with any endPoverty visit to a partner in Africa. Would you “sponsor” one of those parties for $100 or all three for $250.

-Would you make a contribution of _______ to help change the lives of hard-working men and women in Uganda, South Africa and Cameroon?

100% of your donation
(“sponsorships”) will go into the loan funds of our three African partners (WINHEEDCAM in Cameroon, Action for Children in Uganda and IKKUSSASA in South Africa). You can make your donation by clicking on the "donate now" button above, or send a check written to "endPoverty.org", memo line write "Africa 2013", and send to:
